On the other hand, ProtonMail doesn’t have dedicated desktop apps. Tutanota does offer desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The web app of both Tutanota and ProtonMail is similar to the mobile versions. Only Tutanota has a dark mode and feels more comfortable to use on a mobile device. The compose email page is a traditional one where you have to enter the sender’s e-mail, subject, and message. On the top-left, you have the hamburger style menu which lets you switch between drafts, send an email, access contacts, etc. The home page of the app is your default inbox.
